Is there a place near Biggera Waters where you can acquire unique and authentic Japanese household goods?
The answer is yes! Japanache is the sole importer of Japan-made products in Queensland thanks to the store’s Japanese Antique Dealer’s License.
Choose from Buddhist and Shinto artifacts, altar tables, shrines, sutra desks, statues, candelabra, lanterns, masks, scrolls, and more.
All pieces in Japanache are sold in original condition. No harmful acids are used to bleach or blonde wood in order to strip off its finish or colour. Similarly, no stain or varnish is applied.
Japanache has a professional restorer that specialises in the restoration of Japanese furniture.
Japanache is perfect for those who are on the lookout for a piece’s authenticity. Choosing Japanache is choosing wisely as the store does not in any way remove a furniture’s surface as it essentially also removes a piece’s history and soul.
Chests are cleaned with wood soap and water in order to remove its grime and dirt prior to being applied with Orange Oil mixture and special Beeswax – a technique that preserves wood.
Take note that a bottle of free Howard’s Feed-N-Wax is given to every chest purchased. This ensures that a furniture’s wood is maintained. However, once a furniture has left the premises of Japanache, the owner is responsible for maintaining it.
All Japanache pieces are fumigated to keep off unwanted pests.
Trip Advisor Contributor “AnnandBob99” describes Japanache as “A gem in the Southern Highlands.”
“So nice to be able to find this type of shop in the Southern Highlands without having to go to Sydney. Always able to pick up a gift here or better still find something for myself. Nice to be able to get the genuine article.”
